Brilliant Braintree Topic
We have been very busy in Woodpeckers and are really enjoying our Brilliant Braintree topic.
We had a lovely time at Braintree Library. We found out lots of facts about the history of Braintree. We stopped to visit the Town Hall and heard the bell tower chime. We were lucky to have the opportunity to share some lovely books.
When visiting the Public Gardens we had fun completing our scavenger hunts, searching for habitats and looking at the different types of trees. We had to be very observant when sorting evergreen and deciduous trees. In class we have designed and created our own natural bird feeders which are now all hanging around the field to encourage wildlife to visit, linked to our science topic on habitats.
During English we have written recounts of our trips and are now writing fact files for our brochures. It has been interesting learning lots of new facts!
In Maths we have been solving addition and subtraction calculations. We've had fun playing the exchanging games for bridging 10.
Great learning Woodpeckers, Keep it up!
